Gettysburg

Landed in Gettysburg yesterday. 2,000 miles logged so far. Planning to take a few days to catch up on school, bills, and, most importantly, grooming. Got my COVID booster yesterday. Quite cold today, with snow in the hills en route yesterday. Forecast to warm up on Wednesday, so hunkering down and doing mostly school work today and tomorrow. Gettysburg battlefield on Wednesday and then off to Hershey to see a friend from NHB days.

On the trip from Parkersburg to Gettysburg, I passed through Allegheny County, Maryland. Stunning countryside coming through the Appalachians and into the valley. Need to make a note to revisit on a slow trip sometime. I think the Frostburg area? This is the old Cumberland Road, that replaced the Colonial era Braddock road. One of the first roads through the Appalachians, built to facilitate the French and Indian War.
