Madison and Milwaukee

Closing in on the last piece of the second leg. I spent a night in downtown Madison, before heading to Milwaukee for two nights. Tomorrow I head down the edge of Lake Michigan, through Racine, Kenosha, and Waukegan to arrive in Chicago for five or six days with Susan and Kate.

I spent all my time in Madison on State Street. Lots of different restaurants and shops. Following Kate’s recommendation I ate at Himal Chuli for “authentic Nepali cuisine”. You didn’t really think Kate would send me for Italian. I had a wonderful seven bean winter soup with steamed bread. The rest of my time was spent looking in windows. Of shops and restaurants.

I took the back roads from Madison to Milwaukee and arrived a little hungry. Nothing a big bowl of noodles wouldn’t fix. Spent the afternoon wandering around the Third Ward and sampling beverages at Milwaukee Brewing Co. Came across these two pink birds on the way in. I liked them even better after dark.

I’ve already been asked what this is – all I can say is #28
