Day 15 in Hawaii

Working out of two different offices. One is in downtown Honolulu. But the other is inside Diamond Head Crater. A beautiful venue, especially early and late in the day. Of course incredible vistas are not in short supply here. I’ve used this beach photo with a sloping horizon just for my sister.

The 75th Annual Floral Parade today closed out the 2023 Aloha Festival.

Today was the first day I got a little outside Honolulu. I drove the 15 miles, over the mountains, to Kaneohe for a vaccine. The mountains slopes are unbelievably steep. Oh yeah, and scenic.

Until the work week shortens, the only recreation is food. Loco Moco has been added the approved comfort food list. A hamburger, with very special gravy, on top of rice. All topped off with a fried egg. I went with brown rice because it is more healthful.

On the right is hamachi kama. The collar of a yellowfin tuna. I went into the hotel sushi bar for a light snack and saw the hamachi as the day’s special. This was one of Janelle’s favorite items when available. It seemed a sign – I ordered it. Not only was it superbly cooked, and delicious, it brought a smile and vibrant memories.

  1. Thank you for the photo of the tilting ocean. I hope your workload lightens up a bit soon. I may come visit you even if I have to sleep on the sidewalk.
