Four Corners of Maine – West

Three’s a charm

Screw Auger Falls
Roots
Rocks (eroded)

Squeezing in corner three before I head on officially. I’ll bow to corner four on the way out. I’ve never been to Grafton Notch. It was another scenic drive. These trials are confirming that driving, for me, is cathartic. We’ll save that for another post.

It was day a bit colder than we have been having. Confirming it is time to move. Walked down to Screw Auger Falls in the park and wandered around a bit. I wanted to climb down a little farther into the gorge but looked at the slippery leaves over rock and realized I was alone. Not a good place to take a fall. And a stark reminder that I am alone. Beat feet back to the car.

Stopped in Farmington on the drive back to Bangor. Visited with Lloyd, Sr. and Chris. Both appear hale. Nothing more to share.

The three trials, while brief, were informative. I’m in the process of assembling the load for the Highlander. Certain it won’t be perfect. Certain it will be adequate. Or not. There are Walmarts everywhere.

  1. You are never alone, btw. Yes, we may feel lonely a lot of the time, but you know we aren’t. Mom is right there with you, ALL the time. ❤🤍❤🤍 I will miss you very much while you are away, but glad you are doing this for YOU!
