It seems like quite a while since we’ve actually checked off a song-city. About 2,500 miles in now. Somehow it seems appropriate that my picture of our nation’s capital is the Zoo.
I’m here for the next ten days or so, staying with Brittany. Did two weeks of laundry today. And walked the dog? Then walked to the grocery store for provisions, missed the curb, and did a face plant on the sidewalk to get up close with DC. Fortunately I didn’t put a hole in one of my two pairs of pants. My knee and wrist will heal. Started the healing process with a full English breakfast at Duke’s. More on DC in a few days.
The Journey 
Oh no, Vern! Sorry to hear of your face plant. I did that not to long ago myself – went to hit a tether ball close up to the sidewalk, didn’t see the pavement was unlevel, and ended up with literal dirt in my mouth. Nothing seriously damaged beyond my palms and my dignity, but quite a shock! (-: Glad your glasses made it through unscathed.

If you go to the American Indian Museum, be sure to have lunch there. I hate falling in public. So undignified. Glad you weren’t seriously hurt.
