Catching up

I’ve fallen behind on reporting. Please bear with me as I catch up.

On Friday, Brittany went to work trying to replicate Janelle’s Chex Mix and Needhams. While she worked, I kept the dog occupied. We are awaiting evaluation from Jane and Renee.

I headed south out of DC on Monday, taking the Skyline Drive, which transits Shenandoah National Park from north to south – 105 miles. Absolutely stunning vistas on both sides of the ridge. And multiple deer in the road, not too anxious to move. I would highly recommend. Also a great bike road, although the 35 mph speed limit might be a little slow.

Arrived in Carrboro on Tuesday and spent Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights with Jennifer and Tom. Very restful visit, although they nearly convinced me that I should be a Quaker. And I actually haven’t yet closed the door on that. TBD. Jennifer and I spent Thursday walking a mostly deserted zoo – few people, and sadly no Tommo.

Jennifer, Tom, and I went to the Mediterranean Deli last night where I had a small serving of dinner, so I fortified myself tonight with fried catfish.

In Forest City, NC tonight and headed to Knoxville, a song-city, tomorrow.

  1. beautiful country side. Glad you are enjoying friends along the way. The needhams looked great. I am sure Janelle looked down with a big smile on her face. Happy Trails my friend
