Anna Maria Island

Classes started back up at UMPI on the 18th. Here, and above, I am studying Intro to Political Thought, and Introductory Spanish.

That was then, this is now. We had a frost last night. Unacceptable. But it has also been good studying weather. If I’m counting credit hours correctly, I should now be a Senior. Makes me feel grown up.

In between warm weather studying and cold weather studying I got introduced to Anna Maria Island by Gerry and Ronda. The most laid back and un-commercialized development I have seen in Florida. No high rises, no big condos on the island. Just modest beach houses. That sell/rent for disturbing rates. Nice place to visit; sure couldn’t live there. With my hosts as guides, I spent an afternoon and early evening by the water on Bridge Street. Beers, then dinner, then beers. Live music the whole time. Conveyed there by the “Monkey Bus” that ferries one around on call. The drivers work for tips. For me? Study hard. Relax. Study hard.

  1. lots of sunscreen I hope? Enjoy the warm weather, we are freezing up here. You are where I like to be, on the beach facing the beautiful water but I like to be either under a palm tree or an umbrella. Stay safe
