Above and to the left are Little Hunting Island. The trail sign points out that the island didn’t exist until Hurricane Irma made it. 2017.

Fleeing Statesboro, I ended up in Port Royal and Beaufort, South Carolina. I’m really taken with the area. I’ve put some more photos below. I like the barrier island forests. And the sand. And the expansive marshes. But it also brought home Climate Change. I understand that the big money coastal areas are New York and Miami, but I think these areas will be a greater loss. I’m glad I have had the chance to see them now. And there were cardinals! A bird that Janelle loved. She has been much on my mind the past week. It was comforting to get a sign.

I need to do some research on National Cemeteries. First how many are there. Add one for Beaufort.

My last meal in Savannah. Ruan Thai gets my thumbs up!

  1. I get a very peaceful feeling every time I see a cardinal. And most times is when I need it most. Very happy to saw one when you needed it which goes to show you, she is with you. Travel safe. Looking forward to seeing you.

      1. you might want to go about 25 mph the rest of the way home. It is still very cold and will take that long to warm up. And besides, don’t you want to avoid the “Pot Hole Season”
