I wrap up this trip with a night in Monterey, a song city, and then to San Francisco for a flight home.
I think I might have enjoyed Monterey better in Steinbeck’s time. A working waterfront and a little seedier.
I did enjoy the variety of marine mammals and the parping (my Monterey vocabulary word).
The Journey 
I, too, was not impressed with Monterey when I was there some years ago!
